There are no pictures of my new place yet. Sorry.

Work is okay, if pretty boring at the moment (I can't yet do what I'm supposed to do and the course I have to take to be able to do it is next week.) and I've already had to tell people on two occasion that I don't like driving if I can avoid it. This is turning out to be a pretty serious phobia. But oh well. They did not hire me for my driving skills.

My biological father died about a month ago and left his run-down and seriously mortgaged house to me and my siblings. With me and my sister busy and far away, my parents (that ist, mother and stepdad) are looking after getting the thing sold and maybe getting at least some money out of this inheritance. I don't know how they do it, there's so much to look after... A couple of students are living in the house whose rent is paying for the interest on the mortgage, but one of them just moved out because a wall in her room is covered in mold and she only just now realized it, and I don't know how that's supposed to work either, I mean c'mon. Mold. You can SMELL that stuff. The whole basement smells moldy. Which sucks, because we kind of want to sell that house. Let's just hope we don't have to pay anybody for taking it off our hands.

And my grandfather (mother's side) died yesterday. Granted, he was 97 and it wasn't that much of a surprise, but that one really made me sad.

I hope the next post is gonna be more uplifiting. The apartment is shaping up, the boyfriend is a couple days away from buying a huge-ass flatscreen TV and I've decided to stop being lazy and be creative again. So maybe there'll be soemthing to see soon, huh?

So we're moved in now. Our study, for lack of a better word, is still full of boxes and stuff and not completely set up, but the rest of the place is pretty much done and has already weathered an awesome party (sort of a mix between a housewarming thing and a birthday party for the boyfriend.) And there's still a ton of cake left over!

This reminds me, I'm hungry. Breakfast soon. Maybe some cake.

On Thursday, we both start at our new job, until then we're semi-free to do whatever we want (there are still some things to be done, like cleaning up our dorm rooms and handing over their keys, or returning laptops to the departments where we worked on our theses.)

But! More on the apartment: We have an awesomehuge closet (those among you used to walk-in closets might not be impressed, but for German standards, it's awesome. It has three mirror doors, so we basically have a 5 foot by 8 foot mirror opposite our bed (which is also awesome, by the way, except for its dangerously sharp edges, which are probably the cause for that unexplained bruise on my shin.) We have 8 chairs and an expandable table which was very excellent for our party on Saturday. We could still only seat about half the guests at a time; luckily, most of them were content to mill around the various consoles people brought (and the Wii we have (which we have a balance board for, since the aforementioned birthday; after breakfast, I'll Wii Fit again.)).

We have a bed couch which saved our asses the day we moved in and most of the subsequent week, cause we totally forgot to buy part of our bed and thus could not sleep in it. My sister and her boyfriend were also grateful for this nice place to sleep when they stayed over after the party. We have a giant desk in our study, and still space to put in, like, 15 more feet of temporary desk for LAN parties.

Best of all: I now have bookshelves. Enough bookshelves to completely display the parts of my book collection I deem display-worthy (yet not enough to expand said collection significantly, but that may change by christmas.) True bliss, thy name is BILLY :D

Photos WILL follow, once the study is tidied up and presentable.

I just broke my Exacto knife shredding old cardboard for reasons of recycling and recreational violence. Will have to get a replacement soon.

The recycling, as well as the stress-relieving violence, are due to my moving into a new place with the Boyfriend on saturday. What, you didn't know about any of this? Huh, guess I neglected my Livejournal again :(

We've been moving in for the last week, actually, bit by bit. My books, DVDs and our new dishes and cutlery are already in the new place, and I'm currently sorting my stuff here in my dorm into piles of "take with" and "throw away". The Boyfriend is off discussing the presentation of his thesis with his mentor, thus I have no one to keep me from slacking off and making LJ posts when I should really be getting all my shit sorted out 'cause I need to be all packed up by tomorrow noon so we can just load all the boxes into the van we'll come by in on saturday.

I promise to post pictures of our new place once it's furnished and habitable. Speaking of furniture, I have a 3000€ shopping list for IKEA, and that's just funiture. No rugs, no curtains, no towels, no boxes to put stuff in... Also, no matresses, which by themselves will cost 600€ or thereabouts, no kitchen (we already have one, thank god), no washing machine (will be paid for by the boyfriend's mom)... And don't get me started on the 42" LCD flatscreen my boyfriend decided will be his christmas present to himself, or the backwards-compatible PS3 that I decided will be -my- christmas present. Good thing we'll be making money now.

So, uhm, is anybody else getting virus alarms about an InfectedWebpage thinige when accessing my Storyteller Blog? If yes, please tell me and I'll take action. If not, uh, check your PC for malware?

sry

EDIT: I'm now thinking it might just be that the virus hid in Mozilla's cache, and I falsely attributed it to my site as it's the first page that loads when I open Mozilla.

Art!
Something I've been thinking of doing as my next project; Skye Templar is a teen girl who likes to dress up and pretend she's someone else. She's scarily good at it. She also wants to either be a conman when she grows up, or a sleuth. Those are two more things she's scarily good at. Together with her friends, she has wacky adventures around her hometown Portland and solves mysteries.

This is one of her disguises, Rhonda )

This is what she looks like beneath the disguise. )

I took a breather between finals and draw some shit. I couldn't really afford the breather, but what the heck.

The first one is Nathan's Superhero RP character, Miles Cohen, who duplicates when hit. Instead of crashing down on one ass, you crash down on two - that can't be funny!

Pow! )

Now this one is for the ones among you who own an EeePC, which boasts a display of a measly 800x480 pixels. It's a wallpaper in pixel style! The characters, are assassins, they're not anybody yet, but their appearance and their names are based loosely on Sam & Carisse: Angie Mourne & Toxic. Now, who can tell me how you get those names from my Angell angels?

Radioactive green! )

On the upside, my site is working again and I didn't have to do anything about it. Yay laziness!

At least it's new for some of you.

As of today, The Living is going up chapter by chapter on Sarahangell.net. Updates 7 days a week for almost two months.

The April Fools' Day joke is that it isn't one :) Have fun.

I'm using this opportunity for some random updates on my own status. )

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.

So I did it & published my three books on Lulu.com. They are disgustingly expensive and I fear I won't be able to buy as many of them as I wanted to. I don't even get a cut from the millions of money the books cost - that's all just the bare printing cost. So, um. If you totally gotta own these books in paper format, I'm leaving them up 'till Christmas or so. After that, they're gone.

Note to [info]shekwasha and my family: I already placed a big order with enough books for you all to save on shipping, so contact me if you're interested in buying these, okay?

So I wrote one of my exams today. It went well. Then I went home and got back to painting and stuff, now I've got cover mockups for all 3 of my books. However, I'm not too excellent at making up these small synopsis blurbs that go on the back of a book... I tried, but I'm not entirely happy with them, so I present them to the public and ask for opinions, evaluations and more. Nevermind if you didn't read the books - what would make YOU want to read these books? Which horrible mistakes should I avoid making?

Cover mockups and blurbs )

Now to format the manuscripts into nice book text....

So I said Syndicate would continue in October. It's November now, and nothing has happened.

I said I'd put up The Living on the blog. The Seventh Day is now up in its entirety and nothing has happened.

I'm sorry for people being dissappointed about this, especially [info]shekwasha and [info]scoutinthenight, because they have been asking for Syndicate updates. But right now, I don't have anything to give you; no new Syndicate pages, TL hasn't been edited yet and I don't have anything else to tide you over. I don't have (or take) the time anymore for my creative projects and I'm well aware of how bad that is for me. The trouble is, I can't force this. I need to be somewhat inspired, and that's been lacking, lately. I had a couple of neat story ideas, which I would love to experiment with in the future, but it doesn't extend beyond that currently.

So my plan is to just leave things as they are right now and wait for my muse to come back and kick my ass into doing stuff again.

Sorry 'bout that.

Am at the boyfriend's, playing way too much WOW. On the other hand, we did get some stuff done for school, which is nice (mostly 'cause I think I'm somewhat lagging behind.)

I'm nearly done with knitting him a Christmas-present pullover. I used really nice, soft wool, and the thing feels like heaven under your fingers cause it's super-soft and still looking manly in a nice navy blue.

Been having stupid dreams about my father again, lately. That probably won't stop, either, so I might just as well learn to cope with it. Still needed tons of cuddling in the morning to get my mood up again.

My alarm clock has been going three hours fast since about ten last night. And, consecutively, it woke me up at four AM.

"Why don't you set it?" you might ask.

Well, here's the funny part of the story. I can't. The stupid thing is radio controlled, which means it's SUPPOSED to get the correct time automatically from some time radio signal originating in Frankfurt or God-knows-where, but since that's SUPPOSED to work, there's no way for me to set that stupid clock. Because it's SUPPOSED to be automatical.

D: So I get up at 4.15 in the AM, look in the mirror and think "Oh my god, you look like shit... wait, why's it so dark out?" I take a suspicious glance at my watch (old-fashioned settable and not radio controlled) and see that it's YE GODS EARLY and start cussing out my alarm clock. Since that doesn't make it show the right time either, I set the alarm function of my watch (a whiny, thin, high-pitched beeping) and get back to bed. But since I've been up and tried hard to get myself to wake up for the day, I can't sleep. Once I manage to, I find myself waking up every half hour to jump up full of panic and check my watch to see if I haven't maybe missed it's beep.

Once it beeps, though, I almost can't drag myself out of bed to get up, though, 'cause suddenly, I'm way tired again.

And that's how it hates me, that filthy alarm clock. If only I knew why, now...
